Role Description
The RenewAcad Training Center in Constanta is expanding its team and is seeking a BESS Trainer to deliver training programs dedicated to battery energy storage systems.
The role involves training participants interested in the energy storage industry, both from a technical perspective (installation, integration, operation and maintenance) and from an operational and commercial perspective (use models, optimization, integration into the energy market). The activity is carried out physically at the RenewAcad center in Constanta, with the possibility of delivering courses in other cities (e.g., Bucharest) or online, depending on the project.

• Courses may also be delivered in Bucharest, other cities across the country, or online, depending on project requirements and training demand.

The BESS Trainer is responsible for delivering training programs covering:

• BESS system architecture (containerized / industrial)
• Battery technologies (Li-ion and other relevant technologies)
• BMS systems (Battery Management System)
• PCS / bidirectional inverters
• Integration with electrical grids (MV/LV)
• Electrical protections and safety systems
• SCADA and performance monitoring
• Operation and maintenance (O&M)
• Electrical safety, thermal risks, and LOTO procedures
• Operating models and integration into the energy market

Mandatory Requirements:

• Higher education degree (preferably technical – electrical engineering, power engineering, automation)
• Relevant experience in energy storage systems / batteries / industrial electrical installations
• Solid knowledge of DC/AC systems, electrical protections, and measurements
• Experience in interpreting electrical diagrams and technical documentation
• Advanced English level (documentation and course delivery)
• Pedagogical skills and experience delivering technical training
• Ability to plan and organize training activities
• Strong attention to compliance with safety and HSE procedures

Considered an Advantage:

• Experience in installation, commissioning, and O&M for utility-scale BESS systems
• Experience with BMS, PCS, protection systems, and SCADA
• Relevant electrical certifications (e.g., ANRE)
• Experience in PRAM measurements and testing
• Experience integrating BESS with PV systems or MV grid networks
• Knowledge of the energy market, optimization strategies, and business models (arbitrage, peak shaving, frequency response)
• Knowledge of LOTO and intervention procedures in the energy sector

• Deliver theoretical sessions and practical applications / case studies
• Explain the electrical and thermal risks associated with BESS systems
• Coordinate demonstration activities and technical scenarios
• Assess trainees’ competency levels
• Ensure the maintenance of training equipment and materials
• Collaborate with the technical team and the HSE department
• Comply with RenewAcad internal procedures and quality standards
